One advantage to homeschooling (I guess some may consider it a disadvantage) is that we can wear what we want to school. And some days it may be pink satin pajamas and witch hats. And "the teacher" may or may not wear sweats.

Kate wanted me to add that she gets to write love notes at school. I sometimes print writing worksheets for them and I'll let them make up the sentences they want to write. This was the phrase of the day:

What a great photo! Love the witch hat! That does sound like a great deal- to wear what you want to school. I admire you for home schooling- what a great education your kids are getting!
I'm still waiting for our discussion on homeschooling :) Really, I want to talk to you 'bout it!
You're brave for homeschooling! Hope it's going well!
Where do you get your worksheets and school stuff? I think Jane would get into school stuff like this. Might be too young still, but I'd love some pointers. I've been thinking about home school, but I don't know how to go about it or if I have the guts.
That is so cute! While we've been in Florida for the month, I decided to do homeschool and not put Tommy in a new and different kindergarten for only three weeks. It's been challenging for both of us, but overall, I've (and Tommy, too, hopefully) really enjoyed it. I was nervous that I wouldn't really know what I was doing, and that Tommy would get so far behind, but it's been quite the opposite. It's amazing how quickly we adopted a routine, and it's been great to watch Tommy excel. I love that we can go to places anytime like a library, park, or museum, and it's a nice bonus when they are empty. I think Tommy especially enjoys the pajama aspect. He loves to wear his shark pajamas as if that's his school uniform :-)
Cute worksheets, too! That's such a great idea. I know my kids would love that.
I'm sure your voice is as good as Eva Cassidy's (or better). AND what do you mean by, "may or may not wear sweats"? Hopefully you are wearing something!
Kudos to you for being so disciplined! I am waaay too lazy to homeschool, so good on ya'! Oh, and your kids are darling, as usual. Can we just draw up the papers for Anna and Josh's betrothal? Between both dads being lawyers, there would be no loopholes for those kids! Take care.
So cute!! I know my girls would love to go to school in their PJ's. And would especially love not having me brush their hair in the morning!
If we're still living in Irving when Esther starts school, I'd seriously consider homeschooling.
And I was just about to ask where you got the worksheets when I realized you had a link. Thanks!
Man, if I tried to do that at our house, the teacher would ALWAYS wear sweats and her table would most definitely not be that clean or shiny. You rock!
(Love your new banner!)
(When you teach photography, please feel free to take a field trip to Ohio so I can join in)
One of the MANY advantages to homeschooling. I'm torn myself. The selfish part of me wishes that I stop entertaining this idea of homeschooling because I'm going to have to give up some personal indulgences for lesson planning. It so nice to see so many friends doing it though. There were like 6 families in our MD ward who homeschooled. It definitely seems like it is growing in popularity. Sends a pretty strong message to public schools if you ask me. You rock!
Nicole- Hey it's Bobi! Found your blog on Jenny's. Love your blog. You're kids are so cute! Props to you for doing the whole home schooling thing, I don't quite have the patience to do it. I'd go nuts! I think my boys would get sick of me too! Well, I had fun looking at your blog and it's nice to be able to see how you're doing.
