Who's the Boss?

Anna and Kate are always trying to tell each other what to do. At breakfast this morning Anna started crying and said "Kate's trying to be my boss!" Shortly after, I heard Anna "bossing" Kate and when I pointed out her hypocritical ways she said, "but I'm a nice boss".

It didn't end there.

Later when we were driving around she asked me if she could get a particular movie and I said, "No, I don't think that's a very good show." So she came up with a clever solution: "Well, I'll watch it and you don't have to". When I explained that I didn't want HER to watch it, her response was "Mom, I'll worry about me. You worry about yourself."

At least I know she listens.

Goggle Girls!

It gets SO HOT in Williamsburg in the summer, but we certainly love the excuse to spend some time at the pool. Anna has gotten more brave in the water, but still doesn't like to feel the sting in her eyes, so I thought I'd try out goggles. We got really cheap ones as I didn't know how they'd react and this was their first try with them. I laughed so hard when they put them on. They slide around and really do nothing to keep water out, but they both insist on wearing them every time we're at the pool now. Look carefully at Kate's eyes in this picture. A little Hunchback of Notre-Dame-ish I think? Looks like her eyeball is going to get suctioned right out of the socket! They're too funny.

The Blogging Bandwagon

So this is what "Jumping on the Bandwagon" is, I guess. After a little prodding, I have decided to go ahead with this "blogging" thing. Not so much because I want everyone reading about our lives per se, but I have realized more and more lately that I am terrible at journaling....particularly keeping track of things my girls are doing and especially what they're saying. So, I figure if for no other reason, at least I can have a place to do that. I love a quote one of my friends has on her blog that reads:

"A life recorded is twice precious, first the experience itself and then the memory of it full and sweet when we read it again later"-Unknown

So here goes!
