Thankful

My sister sent me an email the other day after a humanitarian trip to the Dominican Republic. She took some beautiful pictures of the kids there, but there was one picture in particular that really stood out to me. Talk about an immediate and overwhelming sense of gratitude. I have much to be thankful for, and certainly could not just limit the list to physical things.

I'm sure because of the pending birth of our little one,
this was particularly poignant.....
a disposable diaper drying on a clothesline.

And I am always impressed that in these settings,
you find so many happy people amidst the lack of "stuff"....
and maybe as a direct result of it.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wow. I'm trying to figure out if that could work - can you "dry out" a used disposable diaper and use it again?? (Maybe the mom in the Dominican Republic has a good idea going! Just kidding.) The picture of that little girl is soooo cute. What a neat thing for your sister to have experienced and shared. Thank you!

what a perfect way to remember how blessed we are...we need pics like these posted everywhere so we can always remember how truly "comfortable" we are.

I couldn't even imagine! I feel for the poor baby that has to put that diaper back on. Yes, we are indeed blessed.

I so agree, that those with less seem happier. It seems like you just don't get caught up in things when you can't afford much. I love your blog. Mindy comments all the time about it. I don't think she's figured out how to comment! Happy Thanksgiving.
